God Damn it! What's with all thess important people in the geek and Sci-Fi community dropping like flies? Sadly another one goes into the afterlife, this time of stop motion master Ray Harryhausen. Next to Willis O'Brian, Ray Harryhausen is considered the master of stop motion who worked on classic films like Mighty Joe Young, The Beast from 20,000 Fantoms, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad,Jason and the Argonauts and the original Clash of the Titans. While we are treated with computers for special effects, Harryhausen's work is timeless. For awhile Harryhausen once inspired me to become a stop motion artist as well, infact here are two stop motion videos I did in 2010[link] and [link]. After awhile I lost interest in stop motion and focused more on my artwork. Now that he is dead, I now have a sudden urge to try stop motion again just as a tribute. Mr. Harryhausen you were an inspiration to many. Your special effects are timeless and will entertain generations to come. You will be missed.
Also in September I decided to do tributes to the greatest masters in the Geek and Sci-Fi community. Harryhausen will be one of them.
